540i bmw replaced the whole screened navigation system but it runs all the time

bought a new navigation system panel with the screen the mechanic put it in and it ran all the time wearing the battery down I took it back and he charged to take it out I was told that there is a wire that connects that when the key is off the whole panel shuts down The car is parked the removed system is in the back seat The car has no ventilation or navigation The part was new and I was told that the guy probably wired it wrong
