What is your question?
I can be driving down the road and notice my ac stops blowing cold air. At the same time my turn signals still will work, but the associated clicking noise will stop. If I pull over and turn the vehicle off and then restart it, the ac and blinker noise will go back to working. What is in common here?

The turn signal "click clack" is handled by the audio amplifier and knows when to operate based on data communication from the BCM (body control module) on the LSGMLAN network on the car. The HVAC control head is also on the LSGMLAN network. my initial thought is that this is a module induced failure of the LSGMLAN network. I hope that helps. This sounds rather expensive? Any ballpark figure? I know you cannot exactly say without looking. While it is effecting these two items at the moment, when I hear the word "network" would I be close in assuming something else is likely to go wrong? I would be interested in someone that knew these vehicles close by and you are not far away, as you said.
It can be expensive yes. But, not always and usually not. The problem could be as simple as reprogramming a module with updated software. Similar to updating the firmware on a printer that isn't working correctly. Or as simple as a loose or corroded connection. A lot of the expense with network faults is in the diagnosis. As diagnosis typically happens on a "by the hour" basis. The proper tooling helps here. That tooling is typically only in use at dealerships or at specialty shops like ours. Experience helps a lot as well. You are correct that a network problem can affect multiple systems. But, typically whatever symptoms you are noticing now is as widespread as it is going to get. The problem may become more severe, occurring more frequently and taking longer before it works correctly again. But, it is unlikely that it will spread. I'd be happy to service your vehicle as Cadillac is what we do. But, it is very difficult to ballpark this kind of repair. I would say on average these types of problems are resolved for less than $300 but could be as little as $75 or could be much more. Feel free to click through to our RepairPal profile.
