Why does my dash say check coolant level but still has antifreeze in reservoir tank in my 2002 Cadillac Seville sls & it overheats. I did a coolant flush & tried to seal a crack on the radiator along the top hose housing with j.b.weld.
What makes this problem better or worse?

Hello, Dave here, contributing to RepairPal and providing expert advice since 2010. The first problem - you cannot use JB Weld or any sealer to fix components. Unless you properly repair the vehicle, you cannot guess at anything other than the things you know to be failed. I recognize there's an interest for perhaps an economic repair, but the vast majority of the time - you'll have to do the job properly to prevent other issues from occurring, or to resolve the issue that is present in the first place. Once you replace the radiator that is known to be cracked, you can purge the air out of the cooling system and restore the coolant to the proper level, rechecking operation. Hopefully that will resolve the concern, but if does not, you'll need to perform more troubleshooting.
