Can't get truck into 4 x4 drive

I accidentally tried to put my truck into 4 wheel drive while in drive and driving. Service 4x4 message displayed and now can't get into 4x4

What makes this problem better or worse?

I was able to get it into 4 low but abs and parking light came on
