Need help with battery light

What is your question?

The problem just started today I went to get in my car and start it the battery light popped on on after a few seconds when I put the car in reverse I had no power steering I drove it down the road just a little bit then the battery light came on

What makes this problem better or worse?

Serpentine drive belt is broken / missing.. Fan belt broke.
