Why do i have to put freon in my jaguar xj6 every year? Freon made it work last year

The sound I hear is a squeaky sound when I start the car first thing in the morning. Even when I don't turn the air on.
When I turn the air conditioner on this year it blows out hot air. I bought the car last year and when I put freon in it ...it worked!
This year I only get hot air.
