What is your question?
A couple of months ago my 2017 jeep renegade low oil pressure light came on. And has continued to do this randomly. Oil is not low, not burning oil between oil changes. Normal engine temperature and only comes on after driving for a period of time and then stopping . Comes on or the oil can icon comes on and then goes off. It may or may not do this everyday or then it may not come on for a week. Not leaking oil. Regular oil changes.
What makes this problem better or worse?
Worse after driving a long distance
How long has your 2017 Jeep Renegade had this problem?
A month

Hello, Dave here, contributing to RepairPal and providing expert advice since 2010. The first important thing to recognize is that oil pressure and oil level are two different things entirely. Low oil pressure indicates that a measurement is being performed of oil pressure that is coming out to be lower than the engine needs to operate safely and without damage. When you get this warning it is either because the oil pressure is indeed low, or the sending unit switch is showing low pressure in error. Testing is performed by removing the switch and performing an oil pressure test with a manual gauge. If the oil pressure on the manual gauge is within specifications, then you have no problem.… Other than a faulty sending unit. If the oil pressure is low you have internal engine concerns that must be diagnosed and addressed. https://repairpal.com/auto-repair-near-me Click the link or call us at 877-913-1554.
