What is your question?
If i remove the passenger tire and fender liner, is there enough access to change out the water pump without having to drop the engine at all? I've seen some videos where it was done on a compass, but i don't know if i have the same access on the renegade. If i have to do it from the top, i think I'm going to pass. But if there is room doing it from the bottom, that seems doable for a driveway mechanic.

Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! For your 2020 Jeep Renegade, you might have enough room to tackle the water pump replacement yourself, but it’s a bit tricky. Some Jeep models, like the Compass, have similar engine layouts, but access can vary depending on your Renegade’s configuration. Removing the passenger tire and fender liner might give you decent access to the water pump, and many DIYers do it this way to avoid dropping the engine. That said, this job often involves dealing with tricky components like belts, hoses, and coolant, plus potential issues with the timing chain or belt, depending on your engine. If you feel comfortable working from the bottom and have the proper tools, you could give it a go, but if you’re having second thoughts about the top-side access, it might be worth calling in a professional.
