What is your question?
If I don't drive the car continuously for 30 minutes or more, the starter battery apparently is not getting charged properly and I get a "Starter Battery Critical" notifications from the App if I don't drive the vehicle continuously for more than 30 minutes, within 2 days these messages will start being sent until I drive or run the car for that length of time. I drive the car daily, in the mornings 15 minutes; and evenings 15-20 minutes on average. I live and work locally, therefore, in the evenings or on weekends I may make multiple stops running local errands. Average daily mileage 8-10 miles during the weekday and 15-20 miles on most weekends. Having taken my car to the dealer, they replaced the battery. But due to my short commute, the issue returned 1 week later. Now the dealer is telling me that if I don't drive at least 10,000 mi per year, the will be charging problems and will void my battery warranty. This doesn't make sense. I drive the car everyday.
What makes this problem better or worse?
driving the care for more than 30 minutes resolves the issue
How long has your 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC300 had this problem?

Hey, my name is Dusty and I'm one of the auto experts with RepairPal's Car Genius team here to help! That sounds like an infuriating experience for sure. I have a couple of recommendations that may help: Check your owner's manual for any specific information about short commutes and any negative effects on the charging system. (It can also be found here too: https://www.mbusa.com/en/owners/manuals) I would request the documentation from the dealer that mentions that specific disclaimer, for your records. Given that lease durations can be shorter or less mileage than that, it doesn't make sense. And don't forget to contact Mercedes-Benz Customer Support to discuss the issue. They might have additional documentation to either support or nullify the dealer's statement. If you have any other questions or would like to discuss further, give us a call! 877-913-1554
