What is your question?
My check engine light has been on for a while. It reads something about a fuel injector. Yesterday the transmission started slipping while driving and with in 30 minutes it stopped shifting out of 1st gear and sometimes would lose all pull while rpms went up to 4000. If I turn the car off and start it again I can get it to go into 1st gear but that's it.

Hi, my name is Devin. I'm an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team at RepairPal. I'm so sorry to hear you’re having trouble with your vehicle. A bad fuel injector can cause the engine to run poorly, which might put your Mountaineer into "limp mode". When in limp mode, the computer will limit gear range and rpm to prevent damage to the engine. However, the transmission issues you're experiencing, like slipping and not shifting out of 1st gear, could also be related to the transmission itself. It's crucial to address the fuel injector issue, but I recommend having both the engine and transmission checked by a professional to identify the exact cause.
