What is your question?
It never gave any warning. I started it, put it in Drive, it made an awful noise. At which, it kept making til I put it in park til I shut it off. It does it in reverse too. It was pulling. Now it's not. Help me please. I didn't notice any fluid leaking.
How long has your 1995 Mercury Villager had this problem?
It happened a week ago. I can't drive it. This happened all of the sudden. No warnings.

Occasionally one of the drive axles will become dislodged from the transmission or the axle shaft itself may be broken. This would certainly account for the symptoms you’ve posted .. IF this is actually the case and just to be safe - be sure to apply the parking brake as the vehicle can still roll when shifted into PARK. Good luck!
IF the vehicle will NOT roll freely when transmission is in PARK - this is not the problem. In any event will require *hands-on* inspection / evaluation.
