The release button in the car near the steering wheel will not open the trunk and neither will the remote entry (fob).

Hello, sounds like it's possibly a trunk lock motor that isn't working properly. Is there a manual key to the trunk release? I'm guessing no. The only other way to get in is through the rear seat fold downs - if equipped. Then you can get in and release the manual pull tab to then perform testing once the lid is open.
