Hello, revving the engine when stopped or in a stationary position is not necessarily a good idea, as the engine's processor will limit the rev's to about 2,000 RPM to protect the engine from possible damage. I do not know that doing that caused any real problems, but I would definitely suggest getting a baseline of trouble codes -- clear the codes, restart the engine and see what happens. If it still starts and stalls immediately, some of those codes will probably not clear in the first place - and you'll have a good starting point as to what area to attack diagnostic testing in. You may or may not feel comfortable enough to tackle this with your own skills and tools - so feel free to check out a local shop near you to check into your concerns Was the vehicle running poorly prior to this latest setback, which caused you to check for trouble codes in the first place? 3 of those codes - the P0441, P0455 and P0456 deal with evaporative emissions system issues - which are unlikely to cause running problems. They deal with the control of fuel system vapors being handled -- P0441 the purge flow system, and P0455 and P0446 dealing with evaporative leaks - something not sealing - such as a gas cap at the simplest or sometimes something more complex.. Testing is required - often by introducing smoke vapor into the fuel system through controlled lines to see where it leaks out from during a dynamic test P0171 does deal with your fuel trims (SHRTFT1), and can indicate a problem with an air intake leak, vacuum hose leak, something of that nature. It can be a multitude of other things too; testing is needed. P0102 and P0113 -- both deal with air intake issues, but I think maybe were inspired by trying to rev the engine. Clear codes and recheck. If not, you'll need to troubleshoot this area.. Hands on testing is needed, ultimately - https://repairpal.com/auto-repair-near-me Click the link or call us at 877-913-1554.
