Tire Kingdom wants @ 600 bucks to fix a leak in the rack and pinion steering. Fair?

I wouldn't get that kind of work or inspection done at a Tire Kingdom. Take to a real shop you trust and get their opinion.

If it isn't the " O " rings around the hoses that screw on to make the connection to the power steering unit,. then it's possibly the seals in the rack and pinion .. at this point if you can do it yourself and fix them ok.. or order re-conditioned one at discount/advanced auto stores online use the google search for coupon discount codes.. can save up to 35% form in store in person only prices,. beleave it or not power steering isn't really needed on the tercel's I had one that didn't have that option and didn't notice to much difference ,. might want to see if you can delete the power steering unit form the tercel if you have a/c it might require some improvising but it can be done.. like adding an adjustable pully to the area ware the power steering unit was.. research and check the configurations for tercels with out p/s units that have a/c and one s that had neither a/c or p/s units or with a/c but no p/s unit,.
