If one secondary air injection pump fails, do I need to replace the entire system? A mechanic told me that, if a pump fails, it floods the air system with a foam and you need to replace the entire air injection system. (2 AIR PUMPS, 2 SWITCHING VALVES, PIPE FOR AIR PUMPS, HOSES W/CLAMPS, GASKETS FOR SWITCHING VALVES)

Nothing is "automatic"; testing should be performed to determine what is happening. I fail to understand why a pump would "flood the system with foam". I would recommend a second opinion. Seek guidance from a shop and technician near you: https://repairpal.com/auto-repair-near-me
