I just purchased this vehicle with 200,000 miles and when starting the vehicle up there is a winding type noise above the passenger side front tire, but when I put it in drive and drive off you can't hear the sound anymore. Than today when I shifted into drive the vehicle just idled and wouldn't accelerate but was making noises like it was going, than finally caught and drove

Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! I love hearing about 200K plus cars! Let's see if we can point you in the right direction! It sounds like there could be a few potential issues causing your CC to idle and make revving sounds without moving. Up front, it seems related to the transmission. You could check for low or dirty transmission fluid or a malfunctioning torque converter. The 'winding" noise is a mystery to me and I don't know if it's related to the disconnect between the revving in gear without the transmission engaging. It could be a vacuum leak or an electrical motor running. I recommend having a professional mechanic inspect the car to diagnose and address the specific problem.
