Drive Train
If the vehicle shifts into neutral, it may roll away increasing the risk of a crash or personal injury.
The 4-wheel drive transfer case can direct engine power to the rear wheels only, all four wheels, or in its neutral position, non at all. These vehicles are being recalled because the transfer case can shift into its neutral position without warning. If this were to occur, engine power would not reach any of the drive wheels and the vehicle could not move under its own power. Dealers will reprogram the final drive controller which governs the transfer case to correct this concern.
Chrysler will notifying owners of affected vehicles during June 2013. If you experience problems with the transfer case shifting, or you don't receive notification and you feel you should have please contact your dealer. They may ask for your vehicle identification number (VIN), so please have it handy when you call. The Chrysler recall number is N23.
