The rear seat belts on the left and right outer positions cannot properly restrain a child safety restraint device because they do not properly lock with an automatic locking retractor (ALR). If a child seat cannot be properly restrained there is an increased risk of child occupant injury in a crash.

You must contact and visit a Volkswagen dealership to perform recall repairs on your Volkswagen vehicle. The schedule for Volkswagen to initially contact known owners of affected vehicles was during August, 2021.
